GIVEAWAY: Challenging the Legacy by Genie Gabriel

Super-mom Tallie O'Shea took on eight adopted children and built a legacy of compassionate justice with her policeman husband. When he is gunned down, she doesn't think it's an accident. Then a former lover shows up and the lies from her past start unraveling. As dangers explode around her, can Tallie set things right before everything she loves is destroyed?

Excerpt :

...Not long after they left, the doorbell rang.

Puzzled, Tallie looked out the peephole. Her heart dropped to her stomach as she blinked and looked again.

The man on her porch didn't disappear. He simply stood casually with one hand in his pocket, surveying the house and surrounding property as if appraising a potential purchase.

Tallie stood in front of the elevator doors, clasping a massive arrangement of sunflowers in front of her. The florist shop where she worked part-time had been busy that afternoon. After she delivered these flowers to the third floor, several other arrangements were waiting for her back at the shop.

The doors opened with a ping and a man charged out. Tallie tried to step aside, but he plowed into her before she had a chance to move. The vase slipped from her hands, scattering yellow flowers and shards of glass as it shattered on the marble floor.

The physical contact reverberated through her body and settled in her belly as a primal longing.

The same longing now unfurling at the core of her being.

The door swung open, surely from Tallie turning the knob. But her brain was no longer connected to any of her actions as she stared at the man she once thought would love her forever.

 AUTHOR Bio and Links:

For years I've been fascinated by the puzzle of why some people collapse under life's traumas and others emerge triumphantly stronger. These triumphs of the human spirit over the ugliest of adversities became the basis for my stories. Yet my dramatic stories have always contained touches of humor, and sometimes I have great fun writing romantic comedy novellas. However, in all my stories, my passion for writing romance is an outlet for the powerful messages that people can overcome great difficulties, and true love can turn life’s heartaches into happily ever after.

  4. Hi, MomJane! Thank you for your kind words. The characters seem to lead all my stories in unusual directions. With this one, they surprised me with an unusual twist near the end that was so perfect, I wondered why "I" didn't think of it. :)

    Good to "see" you again!

  9. You know my reading time is a bit limited these days but I did have a chance to read The Bodyguard (loved it!), I've downloaded the The Leader of the Band so now I'll take advantage of the .99 cent special and get The Rockstar. Did I read out of order?? Oops! I'll have to get on the ball and catch up with this latest series. Thanks! Pam R.

    1. Hi, Pam! Yes, I know how limited your time is, and I'm so glad you enjoyed THE BODYGUARD! Not to worry about reading out of order--each of the books stands alone. Though it might be a bit confusing if one of the characters is married and has a baby in a later book and you go back to find they aren't even involved with a man. LOL! Thanks for taking the time to stop by. :)
