Justice Jackson Epilogue

Epilogue

One Year Later

I was driving home from work reflecting over my life. The past years had been very busy to say the least. Domick Torrio, Frank Petrilli and their gang of thugs were sent to The Big House to live out their miserable lives. My P.I. practice had flourished, everyone wanted to hire the man that put an end to organized crime and made the streets of Chicago safe again. Andrea not only agreed to be my secretary, but my wife as well. We were married eight months ago. The ceremony was small, just family and close friends. Instead of a honeymoon we moved into a bigger place and never left our bedroom for days unless we had to. My life was perfect in every way.

Sliding the key into the door to my house and walking in. My heart started to beat fast, I was so worried about Andrea, she’d been sick for days now. I finally convinced her to see a doctor, Julia took her this morning.

“Andrea, honey I’m home.” I announced while taking off my hat and coat, then placing my briefcase down.

“Hey Justice.” Julia greeted me with a huge smile. “She’s in the bathroom.”

“Did the doctor figure out what was wrong with her?”

“Yes!” she replied, smiling even bigger.

“Well, what’s wrong with my wife and why are you smiling?”

“Oh, Justice. I’m going to leave because I’m sure Andrea wants to talk to you alone.”

“Julia, what aren’t you telling me?” I questioned her using a sharp tone. Why won’t she just tell me? Is Andrea really sick? Will I lose her? My mind was spinning with so many thoughts and fears.

“Calm down, she will be fine.”

I let out a breath and nodded.

“Call me later.” She stood on her tip toes and gave me a kiss on my cheek before letting herself out.

I slid out of my shoes and walked toward the bathroom to check on my sick wife and get some answers. Just as I reached for the door it opened.

She was in front of me in a blue dress with her hair piled on top of her head. She was a vision.

“Justice, you’re home.”

“How did your appointment go? What did the doctor say about you being so sick?”

I stood there bewildered as I watched the biggest smile I’d ever seen grace my wife’s face.

“Let’s go sit down and talk.”

Fear raced through me. I needed to know what was going on now. “Please, Andrea, you and Julia are scaring me. What is wrong with you?” My eyes met hers and a calm swept over me.

She let out a sigh. “I’m fine Justice. But, I do have something to tell you.”

I nodded still lost in her hazel stare. I felt like I could see deep into her soul and everything was indeed going to be okay.

“We, well mostly me, are going to have a baby.”

I was unable to move or form any words.

“Justice, honey did you hear me? I’m pregnant.”

Those words snapped me out of my trance and I picked her up and hugged her tight.

“Oh my. I’m going to be a dad.” I half stated and half questioned trying to let it all sink in. In an instant it all made sense, Andrea being tired all the time, the early morning visit to the bathroom.

“Yes, you’re going to be a dad!”

“I love you so much, both of you,” I laughed before placing my lips on hers.

“I love you too, Justice,” she mumbled as we kissed.

Now my life was perfect and I couldn’t wait to see what the future held for me and my family.

The End... and they lived happily ever after!
